Our Story: A Return to the Range
The roots of Sport Shooting Depot go back decades to our founder’s school days, where the love for marksmanship first took hold. But like many passions, it was paused for life’s other great adventures: college, immigration, building a career, and raising a family.
It wasn't until the "empty nest" years—coinciding with the onset of the COVID pandemic—that the spark was reignited. What began as a rediscovery quickly evolved into a dedicated "pro-hobby." Our founder threw themselves back into the sport, training rigorously and competing at the highest levels, eventually securing a Silver Medal at the US Pistol Nationals.
The Gap in the Market
However, the road to Nationals revealed a frustrating reality: the US market lacked a reliable, modern source for high-end ISSF gear. The purchasing experience was often difficult, and product selection was limited to the "basics." We realized that if a competitive shooter was struggling to find the right gear, the rest of the community was too.
In the summer of 2021, Sport Shooting Depot was launched to fill that void.
Anticipating the Athlete's Needs
We operate differently than a standard retailer. We don't just wait for products to become bestsellers; we actively hunt for the tools that solve specific shooting problems.
Because we are shooters and coaches ourselves, we anticipate what you need to improve. Whether it is a newly published training manual that we stock mere weeks after its release, or obscure match-tuning components like front sight blades and barrel weights that help you find that perfect balance, we bring them in immediately.
While other retailers may take months or years to catch up with the latest European innovations or training methodologies, we ensure the US community has immediate access to the latest solutions the moment they exist.

We recently closed in on a massive milestone: nearly 500 5-star Trustpilot reviews. When you analyze those reviews, three distinct themes define who we are:

The Shooter’s Dilemma
Today, the passion for competition is still very much alive. You can still spot us on the line at CMP monthly matches and other events. However, these days, we are often found running the Sport Shooting Depot pop-up booth rather than shooting the match itself—sacrificing our own trigger time to ensure fellow athletes have the support they need to win.
